He made my mouth like a sharp sword;
Ish 49:2 (Read all of 49)
in the shadow of his hand he hid me;
he made me a polished arrow;
in his quiver he hid me away.
When I read this, it’s a picture of my life undergoing the fashioning and forming process of hearing (which means to obey) the WORD (Jesus is the Word ~ John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.). Over time I learned to trust the Word and listen to the Holy Spirit as he led, this is a relational response to the WORD. I understand that this scripture is a picture of Jesus. Jesus said in Matt 28:18-20 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” In essence, we are to have our speech disciplined/sharpened like a sharp sword, to be hidden in the shadow of His hand, to be made into a polished arrow (there’s some things that have to be rubbed/buffed off in the process of polishing), hidden in His quiver until He says it’s time to be used. (Like Moses, King David, Daniel, & Jesus) To speak (pray/intercede) what the Holy Spirit lays on our hearts, then we liken to an arrow in His quiver that He takes out in the appropriate time to hit its intended mark, For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Eph 6:12) This happens in the plane as we pass through the atmosphere, just as an arrow passes through air. The enemy is called the prince of the power of the air. (Eph 2:2)
There is a cry in my heart to see many polished arrows in His quiver! We can become polished in many ways but here are two:
1. Counting it all joy my brothers when you meet trials of various kinds for you know the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. (James 1:2-4)
2. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
This my friends is a building of your character and faith to see the God of Heaven move on your behalf as you intercede for those on the plane, strongholds to be broken over the country and cities that we fly over and that as the Word would accomplish what He intended it to accomplish. As it says in Isaiah 55:6-11 Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on them and to our God, for he will freely pardon. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and beard for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
Can you see it? Can you see yourself sitting in the plane, praying for the people on the plane? It might sound something like this...Father I lift up all these people that are on this aircraft before your Throne of Grace. May they seek you while you may be found, may they call on you while you are near to them! May they turn and repent to you Jesus, that you would have mercy on them and would freely pardon them from all sin. Thank you Father that your thoughts are not their thoughts about themselves and their ways don’t even compare to your ways and what you desire for them, which is a relationship with you, the living God! Draw them to yourself, free them from strongholds, addictions and insecurities that they may live a life free to worship and have relationships with You, I ask in the Powerful Name of Jesus my Lord and Savior. Have your way in their lives, meet them where they are! I love and honor you! Amen.
Are you ready to see a move of God? Let’s PRAY!
